Survive again. Basically. And 6 points off the stripy filth from The Black Country

And us claiming 12 points, from both Tesco FC and the Villians will be our big target, along with of course trying to break the top 6!

Still, 7th again for Wolves and 2 possible routes into Europe left is a darn good season!

Altrincham cruised their way into the Conference North play off final with a two nil win at “top of the table” York City.

York had Guy Mowbray doing the commentary which was weird.

That mean Alty have put York out of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and League this season all at Bootham Crescent.

To add insult that was the last ever such game in all three competitions at Bootham Crescent. The same Alty player scored in all three matches.

It gives us one last match at York Street tomorrow though. Such a shame the way it has ended! Would have been a sell out tomorrow.

Indeed there have been a few strange last ever games, Brentford the other night too.

Maybe it’s easier than having a last ever trip? I’d hate for Alty to leave Moss Lane, I’ve been to so many terrible new grounds over the years. As soon as you can’t walk from the town centre in a reasonable time frame it loses so much for me.

Was what has happened at Newcastle United concerning the now aborted takeover bid all that unexpected, considering the opposition from a number of different sources who were opposed to the Saudi bid.

The boys club circle on another club to keep their status quo. Like the hateful 8 that wrote the letter about Man City. How Chelsea had the audacity to be part of that I will never know.

I see another football official; FIFA is in trouble. They governing bodies are rotten to the core.

Sheffield Wednesday deducted 12 points for next season for fiddling the books regarding the sale of the ground to themselves.

Interesting decision, when Wigan were deducted points this season, causing them to be relegated.

Derby did the same as Wednesday, so interesting to see if the same happens to them.

It's all getting very messy in the EFL.

12 points and next season is unbelievably lenient given the extent of their misdemeanours, that I had them to finish bottom this year at 100/1 is purely coincidental

It happens every year.

At season ticket renewal time Ashley briefs the media that a takeover is imminent. Once the season ticket sales are in, it "collapses". Third or fourth time now.

Ashley won't sell and won't pay what it takes to finish higher than 14th.

Why was the points deduction not applied this season, which might then have seen Wednesday relegated?

It looks like Sheff Wed have been rewarded for cheating by the EFL after all they will have a complete season to make up the points deduction.Makes me wonder if the EFL have been taking advice from the SPFL in Scotland another organisation who have not covered themselves in glory recently especially over the missing/altered voting slips season finish and promotion/relegation

Maybe it was better there were less people there to witness the keepers howler.

Alty back in the Conference at last

Yep. Contractors were already on standby for next week if they won today.
If I rightly recall, if they don't go ahead with replacing the 3G pitch with grass, Harrogate would then face instant demotion down to the National League North.

Don’t worry they’ve got the cash alright.

I see the BBC are once again showing little non-league knowledge in their rags to riches angle.

Exactly. Or more accurately spinning the line they’ve been fed by Weaver Snr.

Unlucky Brentford. Would have loved to see you up there. Congratulations Fulham. Hope to see you there one day. Love from Preston North End ;)

A very emotional Scott Parker. A true professional and delighted for him. Fascinating game to watch for a play off final, Brentford just undone by a left back popping up with two unlikely goals.

Ridsdale can’t be blamed for Plymouth’s mess. He was bought in by administrators to assist in day to day running.

Maybe. But it’s a strange decision to bring in someone who’s had financial issues at both his previous clubs to run a third one that was in the mire.

Sorry about the late reply, congratulations. I didn't think there was much in it to be honest, thought it was going to penalties until the howler. Horrible way to leave York Street but in all honesty were probably not ready to go up yet as only half the new ground will be ready etc. Sadly it seems like some of our better player are going. Hopefully see you in two years!

I’m glad they’re getting rid of it. There was a place for it when games had just restarted and players had had limited training - however to continue with it next season would be pointless.

Premier League clubs have voted against continuing to allow five substitutions in a match for the 2020-21 season.
The rule was brought in when the 2019-20 top-flight season restarted in June, having been halted for three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
For next season, the league will revert to three permitted substitutions.

Hear that Northern Premier League semi professional outfit Droylsden FC have thrown in the towel for the 2020-21 season.

Likely to be the first of many, sadly.

That’s sad. Droylesden always seemed a nice club to go to when Halifax were down in the glue leagues. And I’m sure we won 6-0 there with male model / star of the Salford documentary Gareth Seddon scoring a hat trick.

Mind you, Dave Pace is an absolute bellend

Remember watching South Liverpool with my uncle at their ground next to Allerton station (now Liverpool South Parkway)read somewhere the club folded but it's now going again at a new ground.Had some good players who went on to bigger clubs ; Jimmy Case,John Gidman and John Aldridge are the ones I can remember.
