I hadn't even clocked that the X84 had been split at Otley! Was it a Covid thing or a First-are-rubbish thing?
The X84 continued to run to Ilkley throughout Covid. But a significant number of passengers from Skipton travel through to Otley, with few beyond, so the 784 overlapped with the X84
X84 stopped running beyond Ilkley early on once COVID kicked off and has never resumed the service to Skipton. 784 launched 12 July. Was the 784 split brought in before Covid or as a result of it? I'd never clocked that the X84 had been split in that way, but I've not been paying attention to West Yorkshire for a year or so.
Makes sense, no matter how nice the bus you wouldn't go Skipton-Leeds on the X84.

I had a friend who used to do Addingham to North Leeds when I used to meet him for a drink. It saved him a 10 minute walk at the Leeds end and a wait in Ilkley and ended up being about 10 minutes slower.
People catch the 60 all the way from Keighley to Leeds - this is no faster.
Could anything be gained from a passenger or operational perspective if they extend the Pendle Wizz to cover the 784? More through journeys of course but do you think many people would make use of the journeys or would it be a wasted effort?New timetable for the 784 is out.
Pretty much the same as the current First one.

Interestingly the 784 has been registered by Yorkshire Coastliner.
The timetable looks to start and end at the Otley end, so that would make sense
Also they've depicted grey vehicles on the twitter images etc rather than green buses
Looks like 6 have come over according to Alex Hornby's Twitter. It looks like Rosso have loaned a bus from Blackpool Transport

Captain Tom's bus has moved to Idle, apparently now in Flyer branding. I'm guessing this is is to allow the PotN's to run exclusively on the 784

and stated as being for school services. All of the stored Scanias that remained have been reinstated at Rosso as well meaning that their is now only one bus stored for reuse; the ex National West Mids B7TL that has never entered serviceLooks like 6 have come over according to Alex Hornby's Twitter.
Looking at the fleet list they are the oldest service vehicles in the fleet. The Blackpool transport website says there are running a near normal service levels.Do we know why Blackpool can spare them? Seem fairly modern to be reserve - is it just due to service reductions?
Mighty impressive then.Looking at the fleet list they are the oldest service vehicles in the fleet. The Blackpool transport website says there are running a near normal service levels.
They certainly do. But have been told many times on here that the expenditure is probably justified!!They must spend a fortune on vinyling and revinyling buses.
