Planning to travel on Sunday have Oystercard loaded with a Senior Railcard discount any advice where to touch out zone 6 nearest to Sevenoaks with the least wait for another train rather than purchase a London terminals to Sevenoaks off peak day return would be appreciated.

Are you starting your day at Sevenoaks or Rickmansworth?

A straightforward return from Ricky to Sevenoaks with a Railcard is £15.

Ricky to Knockholt is £3.75 each way (£7.50 return), and a Knockholt to Sevenoaks Return is £3.30, a total of £10.80. With this option unless you are quick you'd be waiting for the train halfhour later at Knockholt.

Ricky to Orpington is the same price £3.75 each way (£7.50 return), Orpington to Sevenoaks Return is £3.90, a total of £11.40. With this option you could get the express train from Charing Cross to Hastings which arrives at xx20 and xx50 past most hours, touch out, and then wait 8 Min for the local train terminating at Sevenoaks.

Another option is a Z1-9 Day Travelcard + Boundary Zone 6 to Sevenoaks Return at £12.70.

If it is just a simple Rickmansworth - Sevenoaks return only (not having any extra trips in London), then
1. Rickmansworth - Orpington (Zone 6) (£3.75) + Orpington - Sevenoaks (£3.90 return), total: £7.5 + 3.9 = £11.4 (I would not suggest using Oyster PAYG to Knockholt, as it is only 2 trains per hour)

Or, if you want more flexibility by not getting off (and also with an option of travel via Swanley on Thameslink), then:
2. London Zone 1-9 Day Travelcard (£9.40) + Boundary Zone 6 - Sevenoaks (Return £3.30) = £12.7
(You can also get unlimited travel in London Zone 1-9)

In normal times you can just buy The Orpington to Sevenoaks ticket off the guard on the Hastings trains, they normally do the doors from inside the passenger saloon on Southeastern so are easy to find and very often do the ticket check on departure from London Bridge.
Not sure what the covid routines are.

I commute on that line and have yet to have a ticket check onboard. Anyone trying to do as described is liable to end up with a penalty fare at Sevenoaks.

In any case you would have to disembark to touch out/in with your Oyster card.
