Well, a rather specific one. Do they hit 125MPH on a non stop Paddington - Reading? Considering taking it up as it's only £15 off-peak for a HST trip, probably the cheapest and shortest I could find in the London area. Would be a huge boost if I got to travel at 125 too.

Line speed on the fast lines is 125 mph, so I'm assumung they would actually reach that speed, as long as there are no slower trains in front of them ;)

They have when i have timed it and now with smart phones and gps it's even easier to get your current speed! I was on a service a few weeks ago and my phone was reporting 124mph.

I know my old TomTom Satnav registered the train I was on from Slough doing 125mph a few years back up to twyford.

The voice I had selected on the TomTom was John Cleese, which was telling me that I should slow down.....

I was up the front of an HST (2+8) out of Reading the other week, and she made 125 for several miles before braking for Didcot. Acceleration to 100 was very swift, with the final 25mph taking a little longer...

The last time I used a Volo TV screen (in July), the ability to view the train's speed wasn't available, unless you have to pay to view it.
