The 2002 map is the at least every 15 minutes network so it misses out the 2 4 and some others. There's parts of some routes combined to give a high frequency - the 28 and 35 shown to Longstone before the 35 continued to Sighthill and the 28 to Wester Hailes - another WH link lost via Slateford.

One corridor which has lost out is the 42 Portobello Duddingston Causewayside which has become a minor route now.

The idea behind the service changes in the early noughties was to tidy up the network, eliminate service duplication and create a "turn up and go" system with a network of core services supplemented by a number of secondary ones. At the same time, some unprofitable runs were ditched, such as the Rosewell services in March 2000 - ironically, Lothian would go back out to Rosewell from March 2003 with the 49 and ended up replacing First on that run in April 2009.

I think that's really well done. Good tone of message and absolutely right to thank everyone in the organisation as it does.

Await usual slavers about waste of taxpayer money... and "her in the canteen wasn't wearing a mask!!!!1"

it's a very powerful message i feel.

They serve staff from behind a screen anyway just incase someone did complain, I thought it was a really well made video and shows how much they value their staff.

I think it's still a marketing or promotional film similar to previous versions, aimed at striking a sentimental chord with both passengers and staff. It isn't the nuts and bolts of buses. So perhaps previous criticisms about incurring unnecessary costs (for the sake of a managing director's vanity) remain valid.

However I don't agree that making such videos is something Lothian should stop doing on the grounds of expense. They seem to be popular and project a favourable image of a company and brand that are resilient and reliable. They're relevant to the business in the same way as well-presented vehicles or friendly drivers.

Or like an investment in ticket schemes they should offer an economical 'return'. Apologies - I couldn't resist the intentional pun .

Anyone else having issues getting timetables on the website? I can select what service I want, but the timetable then doesn’t show.
(Attached is a screenshot showing said issue)

I can almost guarantee that the answer will be no, but is there still any buses in service that have the tartan seats? I’ve heard somewhere that one of the buses still have the tartan fabric around the camera screen at the front of the bus, not sure if that’s accurate though.

I don't think any still have those seats, but I do recall seeing tartan around the upstairs CCTV screen on a bus relatively recently (within the last two months?). I couldn't tell you which vehicle it would have been on though, probably a Gemini 1.
Found it!! :D
It's Gemini 877 (SN08BWK), I was on it yesterday when it was on 25s. Looks to be on 44s today.
(Sorry for being off the current topic!)

Edits: Apologies, there was supposed to be a link to the Lothian Vehicle Finder page but I can't get it to work properly right now.

I’m sure 901 has it as well.

Thanks for saying :)
This is exactly the kind of thing that fascinates me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it does for other people too. I would go out to travel on 877 at the next opportunity if it wasn't for the pandemic

826-828 on ECB routes this morning.
826/7 on 104s and 828 on the school run 126

Any ideas as to why these vehicles are operating ECB services? We've often seen one vehicle substituting but to have three consecutive vehicles would seem more like a longer term fleet movement to me?

I wonder if they're trying to reduce the milage on the Gemini 2s? I've noticed that since the refurbished Gemini 1s went to ECB they've (the G1s) been doing more 104 runs (which I'd imagine are more milage and tougher mechanically due to the A1 running), and the G2s have been on more 113s which I think would be lower milage.
As was pointed out before, the 2010 Gemini 2s have been on relatively high milage/tough routes since their arrival (100 then higher speed runs with ECB). Just a thought.

Will be interesting if they get a repaint and a retrim. Maybe even high backed seats? By Lothian's (very welcomed) high standards they are already past mid life!
10195-10199 may need this treatment if there's another thermal incident like that of the LCB B7RLE...

Hopefully not! They are still in what turned out to be the interim ECB livery not Fleet of the Future, I'm guessing current paint is about 4 years old?
