Small Derailment at Chichester Yard 02/02/21

Only a small incident, eyewitness reports of the 5th and 6th wagon bogies gone off the rails over some pointwork.
Seems there is an 0Z66 to Chichester from Tonbridge so maybe 59201 left some wagons behind that need moving or something

Eyewitness report:
59201 is powering todays 7052 from Merehead Quarry, but unfortunately the bogies between the 5th and 6th wagons behind loco have derailed over the pointwork , just under the yard footbridge into Chi stone terminal, seen at 0905.

Don't know if it is still the case, but when I was based at Brighton in the mid-eighties and we used to work the Lavant-Drayton aggregate shuttles and various ballast trains into and out of CHI yard, there used to be a set of spring-loaded points half way along the Up Goods Loop set for the sidings, the lever for which had to be manually held-over by the guard or shunter while Down direction movements along the loop passed over them. Neglecting to do this, or failure to hold over the sprung lever until the entire train had passed over them, was a regular cause of derailments at this location.

When I was last there (4-5 years ago) there were no sprung points. At the London end there is a crossover between Nos 1 & 2 Rec, normally set for No 1 (see piccy). This allowed juice drivers to proceed along the road without need for a man on the ground. For a stone train the shunter operates the points with the signalman's permission, to give access to N 2 and the stone yard, and returns them normal afterwards.
At the Country end (Fishbourne end) is a set of points that have to be worked both ways from the ground for running round. In my time going there (I was with the first train in 2004) I only know of one derailment, when the track through then gate spread under the loco. (I wasn't there, it was my mate's problem!)

I notice what looks like sleepers placed over the disused siding near Waitrose and notice this on redundant track at Salisbury too
Is this to stop wrong routes and potential derailment?

That would be No 2 Neck, I guess. No 1 Neck is the one adjacent to the Up Main line, used for shunting in and out of Dudman's depot. No 2 Neck (the next one across) has been out of use for 15 years, at a guess. I think it last saw use when the engine off a steam special cleaned out it's ashpan and smokebox in there. Sleepers weren't too special after that!
