Now I freely admit that I might be an edge case as I use a combination of browsers such as Firefox, Pale Moon, Brave and even Tor Browser; just for added complications these all run on top of Xubuntu 20.04.

I have logged in at various times using all these, but it appears that most of the posting, editing and file attachment functions are geared towards, or even exclusively available to, those using Android or iOS devices. May I humbly request that the forum software be truly agnostic to users browser and OS choices?

An interesting comment.

I have no idea how the forum appears on Android or IOS. To me a phone is for phone calls, texts and at a push checking email, looking at live train times and a map.

My normal browser is Firefox and for this forum I don't recall using any other. My home platform is Linux Mint and work Windows but generally Firefox is the same. I have got used to the forum and the way the posting functions work but agree some are far from obvious. Just one aspect is more options hidden with access by three vertical dots. Sometimes the only way to see what is highlighted is to toggle BB code, the icon [] for this is not exactly obvious. One thought would be two modes - computer and phone. In computer mode the formatting options would be closer to MS Office, Libre Office etc.

I have had comments from moderators or posts edited due to the format and content of posts, once while editing numerous times trying to get links and quotes to appear as required.

I'm not really sure what the issue is. I use Chrome on Windows and on Android, and my experience is that it's far easier to post using a desktop machine than it is to use mobile, especially when formatting text. Editing is also far easier when using a mouse (or other pointing device) than having to fiddle around on a touch screen with fat fingers.
