I've been trying to sign up to rmweb, but keep getting an error when I apply. Has anyone else experienced this, or is there an issue?

I am presuming the answer to the British manufacture of model railways beginnning with a B is Bachmann - I'm so long out of the game I had to think for a moment, didn't realise it was UK based though.

I've used the contact form, but no response so far.

Any help, gratefully appreciated!

This is an issue people have been having for a while now. According to this thread (https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/160062-new-members-are-unable-to-register/), it's a bug.
One of the mods ('AY Mod') said this in November last year:

Others have suggested trying Bassett-Lowke, but whether this would solve the issue or not, I don't know.

Thanks, Peter. Is there a way for you to contact him and say someone's wanting to join? As I'm not on Facebook, that would be most appreciated!

Although not nearly as big or diverse, DCC Concepts has a focus forum on their site, which is a good place to get technical help for modelling as well as their own specific products, but you can discuss their product which is a lot better than many where you find it difficult getting support let alone feedback.it might help until you get this issue sorted.

Thanks, Jaz. With Peter’s intercession, I managed to gain admission to the hallowed halls of rmweb!

It's been an on/off issue for at least six months, but I'm glad you managed to get access!

Definitely a great source of modelling and historical prototype information.

Hi Peter. I've also not been able to join rmweb (and not for want of trying). I'd be very grateful if you could arrange for me to get access as well, please. Many thanks

I was thinking of that too! He certainly deserves commission.

As I’ve now been admitted to the rmweb ‘Magic Circle’ I can try to help too.

Just let me know and I’ll tell you where to send your Bitcoin :)

Hello :)
The solution I found when talking to @Inversnecky and a moderator on RMWeb was to use the 'Contact Us' link on RMWeb (near the bottom of the pages I believe) to send them a request to join. It's apparently an issue they've been trying to fix for some time now.

Haha! I think I might become some sort of guard, standing at the gates to that mythical place 'RMWeb'... ;)

Many thanks Peter. An admin from RMweb got in touch, and he's sorting it for me. Thx all round.
