Thank you for your suggestions guys - they're both useful and interesting, but they are maps - so to see every connection you do have to methodically study each map top to bottom, left to right - which sounds easy but isn't!

Is there a listing in text form anywhere?

(NB - if no one is able to find one by the weekend, I may well do said study and list it here, for future googlers - I can't be the only person who's wondered this!)

A starting point would be the mileage transfer points on my diagram. Not all of them are track connections but it will help you pick out some of the places.

Is there a list anywhere of the links between London Underground lines (e.g. the Bakerloo-Jubilee line discussed here)?

Googling it unfortunately just brings up passenger connections which is not what I'm after!
In addition to the track connections between Underground lines which have all been mentioned by other members, there are also a number of track connections between London Underground and National Rail lines.

Bakerloo:
Queen's Park onto the Watford DC line towards London Euston, and Harrow & Wealdstone onto the Watford DC line towards Watford Junction.

Central:
Ruislip depot onto the Chiltern Main Line.

District:
Barking onto the Gospel Oak-Barking line, East Putney onto the Windsor lines, Wimbledon onto the South Western Main Line, and Gunnersbury onto the North London Line.

Metropolitan:
Harrow-on-the-Hill onto the Chiltern Main Line towards London Marylebone, and Amersham onto the Aylesbury line.

In the past there were more track connections to the National network, but the ones listed above are the only ones that are still present.

Thanks lads!

It is interesting just how few there are. Can this be a problem during maintenance?
It can at times be an issue. When the 1972 stock from the Bakerloo line visits Acton Works, the route needed to get them to Acton Works from the Bakerloo line is onto the Jubilee line at Baker Street, up to Wembley Park, then along the Metropolitan line to Rayners Lane, before a reversal to travel down the Piccadilly line to Acton. As the Jubilee line is fitted with ATO, 1972 stock can only be transferred on/off the Bakerloo line outside of service hours on the Jubliee line.

2009 stock won't fit through the tunnels on the Piccadilly line as it's slightly larger than most deep tube stock, therefore should they need to leave the Victoria line for whatever reason they would need to be moved by road, though I don't think this has actually had to happen yet.

The Bakerloo running lines north of the Queens Park platforms are NR infrastructure though, so Queens Park is the actual connection...

Something that's occurred to me reading this thread is how the old A-stock sets that used to run the East London Line were moved on and off that line. Presumably at times they'd need to return to the Met for repairs, but I can't work out where there would be a connection between the former ELL and the rest of the sub-surface lines.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

The connection was by the St Mary’s curve, just west of Whitechapel. It was removed as part of the ELL conversion. There’s a 2011 picture of the plain lined junction at the District line end right at the end of this web page on “Abandoned Stations”:
So far I’ve not found a picture of the ELL end of the curve but apparently it’s been walled up somewhere.

Gutted I never got to do St Mary’s Curve. I remember the LTM ran a tour over it with the 1938 stock train in December 2007 just before the ELL closed for rebuilding/refurbishment/conversion to NR. Saw it advertised at lunchtime...and when I got home from school to try and book it...the bloke on the end of the phone said something like...

“Sorry...sold out about an hour ago. If it helps we can put you on the Waiting List if you like, but be advised it’s already really long as a lot of people want to do this tour.”

One off occasion and no chance of a re-run or repeat! Cheers then. :(

The other thing about St Mary’s curve...due to clearance restrictions, only one train could operate along it at once, two A Stock trains wouldn’t be able to pass eachother due to them being rather wide! East London Line Drivers at New Cross knew the route to Wembley Park to get units to/from Neasden Depot!

My understanding is that it will fit, but that there are other issues over running it over the Piccadilly line, mainly I think to do with signalling, which boil down to it needing a possession to do so. ISTR that the very first train came to the Vic by rail, but subsequent trains came by road due to problems the necessary possession (especially as that the Picc and Vic infrastructure maintainers were different), and the original link from BR into Northumberland Park depot (used to deliver the 1967 stock) being long gone.

I believe that restriction was specific to A stock, due to its width.

In pre LT days (before 1933), St Mary's curve, and the line west to Aldgate, etc., was Met-MDR joint (and original 'main line'), while the Met did not have a share in the 'branch' line east from St Mary's junction via Whitechapel - the Whitechapel & Bow, so only used by District trains. Met trains (from the H&C) worked on to the East London (Joint) Railway. It was IIRC in 1939/40 that the Met/H&C/District services were reorganised, and regular service ceased over the curve, but I forget details.

All 2009 Stock were delivered by road to Northumberland Park.
