was a nice view point/video, used to live near harringay/the depot and that was train noise 24/7 but i found it would help you drift off to sleep sometimes  where i live now is complete silence, bit too quiet for me

Very nice pictures :)
Thanks very much, glad you like them. :)

I've got some more photos of another SWR 442 which is at Wolverton and shall post the link here once it is on my flickr.

I also love this below your posts it makes me laugh! :D

Plus why are they still being moved from Eastleigh to Wolverton Works for. Can’t be cheap to move them between Eastleigh and Wolverton.

A reminder that this thread is to discuss Class 442 refurbishment and redeployment.

If anyone wants to speculate as to the long term future of these units, including speculation as to whether they will ever run again, then they are welcome to start a new thread in the speculative ideas section.

thanks

Can we just clarify where the 18 units for SWR are currently located please?
Are most at BM, with the remainder at Wolverton? Have they all left FR and EH?

Thanks.

I know 442403 is at Wolverton as I got a shot of it the other day, 442406 I saw go into Wolverton 9th Feb 2021 too.

I don't think there is anyother units at Wolverton at the moment.

Have all the surplus ones been scrapped now? I know that at least some of them have.

Thanks

Add 442416 to the list at Wolverton.

442407/2412 were in Eastleigh Works, I believe they started scrapping 442407 C.62943, 442412 C.62947.

Ooh thanks for the heads up, I'll have to look out for that when I walk past the Wolverton Works next time.

While I'm here shall we put together a list of the status of the 442's?

Ok why not.

Anything missing? Feel free to me know. :)

442402 - Unknown
442403 - Receiving AC traction and new cab desk fitting at Wolverton Works
442404 - Unknown
442405 - MLC coach scrapped Raxstar, Eastleigh 05/2020

442409 - Unknown
442410 - Unknown
442411 - Unknown
442412 - MLC Coach scrapped
442413 - Unknown
442414 - Unknown
442415 - Unknown
442416 - Unknown
442417 - Unknown
442418 - Has AC traction motors and new cab desk fitted by Wolverton
442419 - Unknown

442401. One of the coaches (77382) still survives at Eastliegh and has been designated so. I think Carl Watson has a pic of it elsewhere on site. Rest was scrapped at Raxstar Eastliegh (link to pics http://www.carlswatson.com/Trains/Galleries 2020/G202009/20200929ArlingtonEastleighWorks/index.html)

So from the above, I make the deposition of SWR units:

Wolverton = 2403, 2406, 2416
BM Depot = 2402, 2404, 2408 - 2411, 2413 - 2415, 2417 - 2420, 2422, 2423

The remainder (not SWR) being at Eastleigh in various stages of scrapping = 2401, 2405, 2407, 2412, 2421, 2424

Is that about right?
