Following the reopening of the Swansea district and Central Wales line about March the 8th trains ran normal for about a week but ever since accrording to Traksy everything is now going via the main line and Landore. I have only seen one light engine going west and also an engineering train to Bynea. Also seems very little coming of the Central Wales line not that there is more than 4 each way when things are normal anyway. Anbody know of any blockage. No blockage shown on Traksy. Graham.

It could be down to many drivers no longer signing the District route. Due to it been closed for so long, their competency may have expired and they are unable to drive over it until they have refreshed the route.

The HoW timetable is currently 2 trains in each direction, since the start of the latest lockdown.

Yes I have just noted a south bound service off Central Wales at Morlais junction. But a freight fron Trostre at 0819 timed over the District line has again gone via Landore. Graham.

yes I did give that some thought but as I say the first week it reopend there were quite a few trains used it including a passenger train which was not the booked boat train went that way and stood at Port Talbot about 10 minutes waiting time due to arriving early. Graham.

I think there is some work at Llandeilo Junction not related to the big closure.

EDIT:- No. The problem can't be there so it must be between Morlais Jcn and Briton Ferry. 2E48 0500 Carmarthen to Hereford is booked via the SDL but went that route yesterday but via Cockett today. Perhaps they are still doing some finishing off work

It was on the Monday after the weekend it re-opened when there was a major points failure at Swansea that at least two TFW trains were diverted via the District Line.

I've seen some Margam to Trostre trains via Landore last week. They need two locos due to the double reversals needed at Llanelli and Genwen Jct so must be a good reason why they are not on the District Line. There are some works at Llandeilo junction but these are away from the running lines at the moment.

I took a trip to Carmarthen today from Port Talbot and decided to return on the Fishguard train 1347 from Carmarthen, was quite disappointed it went via Gowerton and Landore rather than the district line. Then again I did see some of the pacers whilst waiting in Landore loop to join the main line.

Is it still the case that the first Carmarthen to Cardiff (Hereford) plus the Fishguard to Cardiff are meant to go via the district line but how often do they end up going via Landore instead? Also the 1831 Manchester-Carmarthen on Mon-Thurs and a few weekend trains too.

Late May 2021. Noted on Traksy usually does go District line. I also caught it from Llanelli a few year go to go via district but it went via Landore and next stop at that time was Cardiff. So I still not travelled that line. Graham.

I wouldn't be complaining, I've done the district loads of times but still need the North chord at Landore.
