That is good to hear, I hope that other railways will receive similar grants.

Can I ask what the latest is regarding connecting the kesr to Robersbridge please?

Thanks paul1609 - I wish you all the luck I can for a succesdful result - you've been patient and dilligent enough.
If successful, might it be possible for a tour operator to access the kesr via Robertsbridge and continue on your metals to Tenterden, allowing a break there, then return?

Realistically the connection we put in at Robertsbridge is for the transfer of locos, stock and plant. The Geography of the location is such that it wouldnt be practical for tours to transfer. As you may be aware the bay platform at Robertsbridge was very short, it never had a run round and the curve on to the branch is such that its impractical to lengthen it very much. The island between the k & esr platform and the down main platform is considered too narrow for it to be used these days as youd have crowds of people taking pictures etc inches from where Fast Hastings services pass at line speed. This is why the new Robertsbridge Junction station was built accross the car park.

Thank you for the explanation.
So a charter service coming on the mainine would have disembark its passengers - decant to Robertsbridge Junction station - then there could be a kesr chartered special to Tenterdon.
Later the reverse process..
The charter on the mainine needing to go and hide till it was time re-appear?
Possible?

A very welcome move from the government, I am sure it will be very warmly welcomed, and not wasted by all of the recipients.
