I have been invited to attend the 2nd stage assessment for the mentioned TOC. I have been told that I need to do a trainability test, a reaction test, a criteria based interview and a personality questionnaire. I completed and passed the computerised tests (vienna tests) for another TOC last year but I have been told they are different. Does anybody have any more information on what they will be?

The trainability test is a piece of cake if it’s anything like the GWR one I did a few weeks back. Nothing to get at all stressed about
You read an extract of a rules based procedure and then answer questions based on the statement. It’ll give a selection of rules, very wordy. Long as you concentrate and keep calm, it’s very completable. I got to the end with a little time to spare
It’s basically testing your ability to interpret and process information and then reapply it to a differently worded question if that makes sense. I seem to remember the paragraph remaining in view as I answered the question so I was able to re-read the passage of text to extract the correct information to answer the question
The test will be timed. One tip, keep a stop watch next to you to ensure you keep a good pace i.e., divide the total time allotted by number of questions to gauge roughly how long you should spend on average per question
You’ll need a quiet space and I’d suggest not doing late at night!!
Mine was administered remotely via the OPC, to be completed in my own time

Thanks for replying. What I'm not sure about is that I've completed the Vienna tests, WAFV, ATAVT and 2hand for another TOC but I'm not sure if I will have to complete it again? I passed them in July last year and thought they stayed on your record

They do stay valid for 5 years, however, some companies have policies of only accepting them if you did them within a certain time ago, say 6 months for example. They may also require a higher pass mark but I don't know what ARL requires, or what you scored. If you've told them you've sat them before and they've confirmed you'll have to re-do them I'm afraid that's just the hoop you've got to jump through. Good luck!

Congrats! I hope you do well in stage 2. How long did you have to wait after stage 1 to get invite to stage 2?

I heard within 3 working days, but I think it depends on availability at the OPC because they send you an invitation to a specific date for Stage 2. So if lots of people pass stage 1, maybe it takes a bit longer to get them all booked onto a Stage 2 day at the OPC.
I have thankfully had an email back to say I can move to stage 3 as I have completed assessments for another TOC. I had an email back about a week later after stage 1.
I was told 3 days after and it’s 2 weeks after stage 1
