Hello all,

We're moving to the Crosshill area of Glasgow in August and I noticed a strange thing on the timetable on the Glasgow Central – Neilston line.
Trains now are pretty frequent at the start of the weekday morning and then there is an hour gap between the 0736 and the 0834, not inkeeping with the rest of the pattern.
This seems to be consistent across weekdays as far as I can search at the moment, but it also seems quite odd for morning rush hour. Is a reduced service due to Covid, and will it come back?

This is how it is now...

COI 0625 - WCR 0637
COI 0642 - WCR 0654
COI 0705 - WCR 0717
COI 0714 - WCR 0728
COI 0736 - WCR 0748
COI 0834 - WCR 0846

COI 0850 - WCR 0902
COI 0914 - WCR 0926

cheers,

Ollie

The 0750 GLC-NEI runs non-stop to Muirend. Normally I believe this is compensated in the timetable, it runs as an additional working but with the generally reduced frequency seemingly it remains but the stopper is removed instead.

Ah many thanks. Do you know the timings of the stopper and whether it will start again at some point?

Difficult to say when frequencies will increase again, but you'd hope (possibly expect) the summer if restrictions continue to ease.

The timetable at Crosshill for Neilston trains (towards Whitecraigs) used to be (Monday-Friday):

0625
0642
0706
0714
0737
0810
0834

Noticed that 0750 to Neilston with first stop Muirend this morning, thought that was odd.

Not sure about the current arrangements, but you had an out-and-back morning non-stop to/from Muirend and I believe two in the evening. Similar to the East Kilbride line which has a semi-fast peak extra each way - to Glasgow in the morning and to EK in the evening peak giving 3 trains in those respective hour periods.
