Hello all,
I have a question regarding the application process for the conductor role.
I have applied around December '20 and I have not heard anything other than I have assed to a shortlisting process for an interview, but it's been nearly 2 months and I am starting to wonder if they just disregarded my application.

Has anyone experienced this during their waiting process?
Thanks!

2 months is nothing. You just need to be patient.
Thanks! I just needed a confirmation that the wait time is way longer than other kinds of job positions, plus Covid is a thing, so definitely going to be waiting a lot more time.

Yeah 2 months is barely anything in the rail application world, be patient, dont bug them and they will come when the time is ready for you

Yeah I completely agree with you, that's why I asked on this forum about the process. Thanks!

UPDATE:

Unfortunately, the vacancy for the train conductor apprenticeship closed after nearly 6 months of waiting, and my application has been withdrawn.
Oh well, better things are coming! Heads up!

Yeah 2 months is literally no waiting time with the railway don’t rely completely on it as the recruitment can take a long time and even then you may be put into a talent pool, always prep for the worst case scenario and prepare to wait a year or more

They closed that vacancy anyway, oh well, better luck next time. It is mad the effort one has to put into getting an entry level job these days.

Conductor isn't just an 'entry level' job though. There's plenty of internal candidates that move into the role. It's a job with a lot of progression opportunity, but also good pay and conditions - that's why it's so competitive.
