Hi,
Looking for the best option for seeing the HST at st Pancras on 1M17 tomorrow 1400 ish ex 1M17

I am travelling from Preston park

I can either buy a travel card £26 (not ideal) which should get me through the gates on the EMT platforms at STP

I can buy the cheapest option (ideal for me), £19, prp to stp but that's Thameslink platforms - would the ticket work on the gate line at EMT platform for the HST?

Just looking for what would be the cost effective yet safest way to see the HST at STP without being turned away with the stupidity from today.

(I'm assuming 1M17 STP is a runner tomorrow given the kids are back at school)

I'm not sure a Travelcard would work the EMR barriers at St Pancras. It's not valid (on its own) on any EMR services.

I think you'd need a ticket to Luton Airport Parkway to be sure of being let through the barriers. Even then, they may tell spotters etc. to leave the station.

Probably easier to see it at one of the intermediate stations, e.g. Kentish Town.

Why would a travelcard get you through the gates at St Pancras? EMT don't stop inside the travelcard zones.

A return from Preston Park to London Thameslink is likely to be swallowed by the barriers at St Pancras Low Level when you arrive.

Yes didn't think of that. I'll take my chances with a travel card then I think, £26, I've asked EMR as well online.

It's a shame that the 10p platform tickets don't actually work on the ticket gates, otherwise that would have saved me £6.90 lol they get me into more suspicion than simply asking to get onto the platform
