Hi all.

Just a quick question regarding TfL Bus & Tram Passes.

If I purchase a One Day Bus & Tram pass today from an oyster ticket stop at a convenience store, can I save it to use next Saturday (without using it today)?

I.e. is the pass activated upon the first tap onboard a bus regardless of when it is, or must it be used on the day it is purchased?

Many thanks in advance.

I'm not certain you can ask at a ticket stop for the ticket to start the next day.

If you are near a station TfL or National Rail you should be able to purchase it on the TVM. I know you can at Plumstead.

Failing that, I use the TfL app to do so.

If it is paper ticket it will need to be dated for the date you wish to use it.

A bus and tram pass isn't issued on Oyster as the capping is applied automatically when using pay as you go.

Bus and tram travel in London really is all about Oyster and Contactless.

Types of Bus & Tram Pass
You can travel as much as you like across London at any time with two types of Bus & Tram Pass.

One Day Bus & Tram Pass
You get unlimited travel on buses and trams for one day. You can travel from 00:01 on the day of your ticket until 04:30 the next day.

Bus & Tram Pass season ticket
You can buy a 7 Day, Monthly or Annual Bus & Tram Pass and add it to your Oyster card.

Annual Bus & Tram Passes give you 12 months travel for the price of ten and a half.

Monthly Bus & Tram Passes are cheaper than buying four 7 Day Bus & Tram Passes.

Your Bus & Tram Pass can start on any day of the week and can be used for journeys that start before 04:30 the day after the expiry date.

The only reason that you would use a one day bus and tram pass (at £5.20) is if you don't have a Oyster card or Contactless card where the daily cap is £4.65.
