Hello All,

I've recently applied for this role via the internal website for Firstgroup. Having smashed the assessments in a week, is there anyone who can advise on how long it can take to get an interview, and potentially a start date as my personal circumstances will be changing dramatically soon and it would be rather expensive to maintain living in Central London.

What’s TM being nosey. I’m watching GWR jobs in Plymouth like a hawk and interested to know what this is.

How long is a piece of string? Hopefully it will be very quick but railway recruitment can involve very long time periods. If you are keen to get an answer quicker, you could contact the HR department but there's no guarantee you'll get any more detail besides "you'll be contacted shortly".

That's why I started the thread on here, had the generic response from HR saying it was too early in the recruitment process, didn't fill me with hope

Yeah that's the way it goes unfortunately sometimes. Not sure anyone here will be able to advise any different. Could be days, weeks or even months.

I applied for Shunter and after online tests waited 7 weeks for interview invite.

Had interview Mon just gone and hoping to hear outcome of that imminently

Treat no news as good news. Rail recruitment runs it’s own course
