I can either get Chiltern from Marylebone or the Met line from Baker Street. I think Chiltern would be better as since the carriages are more enclosed and the seats face forwards, it's easier for me to pull my facemask down without anyone seeing. price wise I think they are both the same using Osyter?

Yes the price is the same. I believe that the S-Stock trains used on the Met have some forward facing seats.

The Chiltern service will be faster, so maybe you won't feel the need to lower your mask?

Chiltern trains are much faster and have toilets. The service is only 2tph and the choice of which will get you home first depends on when you are travelling, where you are starting from and where you are going. From the Marylebone area or from a Bakerloo or Jubilee station I would go direct to Marylebone, from the City I would go for the Met. Southbound I just get the first train that turns up, also there is usually more room on a train that has started from Amersham or Chesham.

If you are planning to travel on a Sunday morning be aware that the Chiltern service is 1tph and unless you time it just right the Met will give you an earlier arrival.

Definitely train. It's really comfortable, and it's the only means of transport that allows me to work comfortably, with no restrictions so that I would always choose it over everything. Anyhow, how do you find the Met ticketing system? For me, it's an absolute nightmare. They don't always have the tickets you need, and you're supposed to use the local transit authority machines, which are different. In Germany, things are much more accessible. That's one of the main reasons why I love their rail system. They perfected the train schedule website db fahrplan, and now you can even monitor up to the moment your train. Hope we'll catch up soon.

There's also the fact that some of the Chiltern trains are just 2-car so they may be a little cosy when busy.
