Just seen this:

One of the UK’s busiest railway stations has been closed at the height of the rush hour due to what is thought to be a “violent assault” on a passenger.

Trains in and out of London Euston were suspended, with dozens of trains on the West Coast main line cancelled.

Anyone know more? Crikey. Allegedly a member of NR staff was the victim.

I just heard it was the TM that was assaulted, Apparently stabbed. I hope it’s wrong.

There was a stabbing and the suspect ran along the railway line to try and escape, hence the suspension of train services. The suspect was subsequently caught and arrested.

Despite the headline, it seems the assault was not "on" a passenger, but by a passenger on a member of staff

There's a video on Twitter showing 4 or 5 armed British Transport Police officers pointing a taser at a white male suspect late 20s or early 30s on a Pendolino style train, before detaining him and taking him off the train.

Any link to this?

Not sure how the person can be detained on the train and be running along the line at the same time, presumably one is an unsubstantiated claim

According to Realtime trains, most are an hour or so late leaving Euston. hope evryone involved is ok. I think theyre running now. It said disruption until 9.45.

On online Indy, it says two have been injured.

Nowadays I would guess that anti-terror procedures mean that you can't assume that there's only one attacker.

Arrest was on the platform

Crikey, one on the track, one on the train and one on the platform, thank heavens for social media and the press ........... just in case anyone decides I think it's a joke, I hope the victim recovers fully and as quickly as possible and the attacker spends a long time in prison

As per @Mojo’s post, the assailant was believed to have entered the railway line at some point which is why services were suspended.

The suspect was eventually confronted on board a train, where he was forced off at Taser-point outside where he was properly arrested.

Hope the TM and all involved are OK, still impacting on the service @16.00 this afternoon.

Just left Glasgow on the 1640 46 minutes late. All we were told is a trespass incident.

Thoughts are with everyone involved. I hope the injured train staff member isn’t too badly hurt.

By 16.00, I was at Atherstone taing photos and in the last 30 mins there, a few more Pendos and 350s came through and they were less than 40 mins late, so possibly getting back to normal.

how long before some do gooder claims the assailant becomes the victim, as they had "mental health issues", as per another thread on here ??????

No one claimed on the other thread that the ‘assailant’ was the victim.

In my view it is also reasonable to assume that anyone who is willing to stab anyone in this situation must have some form of mental health issue. How could anybody of ‘sound mind’ think that was an appropriate action?

Well that’s ok then, not of sound mind, not your fault then ‍♂️
