I am sure a lot of you are excited about tonight, but if things do significantly get delayed, then will chiltern hold trains at Wembley?
I am surprised they are not running trains as far as birmingham, but I can see it from the staff's point of view, I am sure they would rather be watching the game, but if England do win I am sure people will find a way to pass the time until the next day, its not a big deal, and hopefully the alcohol would have worn off and they would sleep off the rest of the journey up north.
Love to hear the groups thoughts. Thanks.

Chiltern can't run beyond Banbury any later on a Sunday as I believe the route closes for track patrolling almost immediately after the last train passes.

They're running three additional services after the normal end of service, but I would imagine that limitations on Driver hours preclude delaying them in the event of Extra Time and Penalties.

Those additionals being 0010 Marylebone to Aylesbury via High Wycombe, 0030 Wembley Stadium to Oxford, and 0037 Marylebone to Aylesbury via High Wycombe.

There is, interestingly a VSTP empties 0130 Banbury to Moor St.

The underground have had night crews run the occasional extra on at least one occasion following a late finish of a concert.

I understand that the council only permit events to run to a certain finish time, I wonder if that applies to football and if so what happens if that time is passed.

Does anyone know if normal Sunday finish times are scheduled today?

I don't think the council will have any significant say on what is happening tonight.

I can see a lot of people not getting home tonight,

It usually takes about an hour to clear Wembley after a match, with last trains around Midnight on a Sunday service, and it appears as if that is what is being provided, also severe delays on the Met due to train cancellations I see there being issues tonight.

If I was a taxi driver in the Wembley area I'd be out of there as quickly as possible so I still had a cab in the morning

Seems to be a decent amount of departures from Wembley Stadium. Final train is 0050 to Marylebone and another at 0050 to Aylesbury

There’s also a service to Birmingham Moor Street at 0003 despite Chiltern tweeting that they would be unable to serve stations north of Banbury…

See post #3 - was booked ECS from Banbury originally, no doubt as a contingency for penalties...
