How do you remove old tickets from your smartcard?

I've bought and used two Day Travelcards on my EMR smartcard. How do you remove them? There is only room for five tickets on the card. When I touch it onto a ticket machine it still shows the two expired tickets. Similarly when I look at the card on the Chiltern app, it says I've used 2 out of 5.

Will they not self-delete when you reach 5? Or do you need to buy 4 at once?

Once full, expired tickets will be removed, oldest first I think, to make space.

Not as easy as it sounds if your oldest ticket is an annual season, oldest expired ticket may be more accurate.
