I am visiting Sheffield this weekend and am looking for somewhere good in the City Centre to park my car. Some of the car parks near the railway station do not get good reviews on trip advisor citing cost, access, small parking spots, general condition.

Can someone who knows the area recommend somewhere? I am happy to walk a short distance.

There's a couple of places I usually park when I drive there, never had any issues with either and as I usually use them to park to go and see bands I'm using them late in the evening, both are relatively cheap in the day and free late evening (think it's after 8pm);

Just off Corporation Street, near the National Emergency Services museum - fairly cheap, on the edge of the town centre, quite easy to get to as it's just off one of the main roads into Sheffield.

Fitzwilliam Street, it's near Devonshire Green, again fairly cheap & near to the centre, it's a bit more awkward to get to but feels less isolated than the one above.

Not tried it personally, but there's a free Park & Ride at Meadowhall

I drive to Meadowhall station which has plentiful free parking and get the train in and out.

I hate driving and parking in Sheffield city centre.

Stayed a night in a hotel in Sheffield recently and they had a special rate at Q-park Rockingham Road, it felt the safest city centre car park I have ever used at night in any city and parking bays were generous size as well, and very well lit.

I suspect it gets busy during university term times though as very near some university buildings.

For free street parking, Norfolk Road is good, though it’s a ten minute walk to the centre, via the station, and a steep walk back. However on Sunday, South St next to Park Hill flats is free. You can look up both on Google Maps. It depends what you call ‘a short distance’.

Given the cost; not so much.

I’ll echo the above comments; P&R at Meadowhall, Centertainment or Nunnery if you don’t mind the tram.
