Drivers, your favourite freight locomotive/s? The one you'd see on the front of the train and think, ''i'm pleased it's one of those today''.

I was always pleased to see a 56 or a 58, the former such a strong engine and the latter so different cab wise to what i'd driven for so long.

In my days on freight it was always the 56. Never had any problems with them, lovely noise and plenty of power. If only the slow speed was a bit less lurchy when loading they'd be perfect.

I also liked the 66s for their power, the (2x) 37s for their character and power as a double unit, (the 55 as a passenger loco was full of character of course and i loved driving those), the 57s were a bit weak but nice and quiet after years of 37s and i enjoyed the 47, as i started with that as my base engine and it was a great all rounder.
