At Watford Jct earlier, I noticed that the last track panel in Platform 1 (near the buffers) seemed to have an x-shaped points frog (or that’s what it’s called on a model Railway) between the tracks.
Just wondered if anyone knows what this is for/from?

Without a photo it is difficult to be certain but could it be a common crossing (frog) left ready to be installed nearby in another possession?

Or waiting to be removed for scrap? Not an obvious place - P1 is one of the DC bays, and a fair way from any pointwork... near road access though.
