I have Cambridge to London zones 1-6 day travelcard which states it is only valid on Greater Anglia services.

Is this only greater Anglia services to and From Cambridge or is it only greater Anglia services all day and no other operating company.

So for example would this ticket be valid on a Great Western Railway train from Paddington to Slough? It is only a 13 min journey and of course they are both in zones 1-6, would that ticket be valid?

I'm quite certain the inspector won't come round to inspect tickets on this 13 min journey and I won't be stopped by the barriers at Slough as I am changing at slough to make a further journey outside of London in which I do hold a valid ticket for.

Don't want to do anything wrong regardless if I am caught or not

Slough is not in Zone 6, so you will need another ticket anyway.

As a general rule any Travelcard is valid for all services (namely train, tube, bus and tram) in the zones that it covers. The Greater Anglia only restriction applies to the train getting you to London.

Your ticket is valid between Cambridge and the Boundary of Zone 6 on Great Anglia services only. Within Zones 1-6 it is valid on all National Rail, Underground and London Buses (except HS1 services and Heathrow Express).

Slough is not within zones 1-6 so you will need a Boundary Zone 6 to Slough ticket which can be purchased at any manned ticket office (Cambridge ticket office could sell it for example) or some ticket machines. An off peak day return costs £4.90

You are restricted to using Greater Anglia between Cambridge and the boundary of Zone 6 (i.e. this just means you cannot use the CrossCountry trains towards Stansted or the GTR trains towards King's Cross/St Pancras)

Then any operator within Zones 1-6

To get to Slough, depending on the time you travel, you will need one of the following:

https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=0072&dest=SLO&tkt=CDR (Off Peak Day Return)
https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=0072&dest=SLO&tkt=SDR (Anytime Day Return)

A more comprehensive answer than mine.

Thanks all for clarifying!

Apologies I gave the incorrect info in my OP, I'm going to Maidenhead and I have a off peak return from West Drayton to Maidenhead, I was thinking Slough was before West Drayton when it actually isn't!

You can get to Slough on a Travelcard but would need to catch TfL bus service 81 from Hounslow, and it takes a while!
