Loads of back issues of railway interest magazines on offer for 99p a copy.
Digital only - you can only read them on their reader. No paper copies or downloads.
Modern Railways going back to 2011 all at 99p except for last 2 months. Other titles too.
May be worth a look...
Not my company. Just posted for information.

Having bought these, can you download them? If not how long are these then available to be read?

No you can't download. I assume they are available on their reader 'for ever'. There are sites that have download able pdf''s bit I think they would infringe copyright.
I used pocket mags cos I downsized my house and could not store more mags.
I find the android phone emulator a good thing on a pc. The android reader is better than the pc version.

Thank you. I assume "for ever" means until they discontinue the service. I, too, have many in store in the attic and would welcome both the space reduction and the ready access. But if the vendor just shuts down the service, or it becomes incompatible with Windows 2025, or whatever, although you have paid for them they are gone.

The US "Trains" magazine put their back copies on DVDs, which I bought. This then coincided with DVD drives disappearing from laptops :(

Then just download and store them as a pdf file wherever you want. Whether that's on your computer or an external drive you have them and don't lose them regardless of whether the service goes belly up.

For all the talk of infringing copyright above, who would know? As long as you are downloading them for yourself and not distributing them then there isn't really an issue.

That's why I persevere with bound volumes. My run of Trains, 1947-54 and 1959-date with some gaps in the 1960s, usually missing issues for a month or two, occupies nearly 10 feet of shelf space. I'm still trying to complete a 100-year run of the Railway Magazine from 1897 to 1997, but some of the pre-1914 volumes are hard to find at a reasonable price in decent condition. Trains Illustrated/Modern Railways is complete except for the first 2 volumes and the 4th, and the July 1959 printing strike issue. Some of the latest years were awkwardly thick to bind as one volume.
