This is what we've been told expect:

"If you arrive after the start time then you will not be able to take part in the assessment centre and you will be turned away. Some practice test materials are attached to help you prepare. It’s recommended that you focus on the practice test materials for the following tests which you will sit on the day:

The Trainability for Rules and Procedures Test Part 1 and 2
The Group Bourdon Concentration Test
The Driver Fault Finding Test (DFFT)
The Test of Everyday Attention for Occupational Assessment (TEA-Occ)
The WAFV Vigilance Exercise
The ATAVT Perception Test
The 2-Hand Co-ordination Test
The Situational Judgement Exercise
The Multi-Modal Interview (MMI)"

I'm a complete noob to the train driver assessment world - but if that's all in one day, my head would be mashed!

I assume this 'enhanced standard last year' was with Freightliner?
Why do you assume that? It wasn't with Freightliner actually, but going off the list of testing that has been posted here, I have done all of those at OPC for a TOC previous so I would deem it unlikely to have to resit

Why would you deem it unlikely? Lol.
Be prepared to resit them all at Freightliner for trainee roles.
That's what will happen.

It does say on the email that if you have done the tests before they will let you know on the day what you need to do, I failed a computer test and also only assessed to National last time so not sure if I hit the enhanced requirements.

on that note does anyone know approx how many lines on gbd for freightliner enhanced?

Because it would be a waste of time and money to do so, what's the point of having industry specific testing if you make people sit the same tests again at the same testing facility just because it was for a role at a different operator?

If there were test results that were not to the required standards for Freightliner then sure, retesting makes sense.

I've spoken to several drivers from the depot I've gone for and they have said it would be highly unlikely. If I do have to resit, I'd probably turn it down as I don't want to risk my current results, plenty of TOC/FOCs up here to go for instead.

When I set my tests, there was plenty of people that showed up and only had to set the tests that they had not got or had to re-sit to get to enhanced standard as they only had national level, there was even some that turned up and was told that they had all the tests already and was sent home.

That's what I've seen previously too, except the sending straight home. Seems odd that they wouldn't have checked prior and not requested testing for those with testing done previously mind.

I know the staff at OPC was surprised that this candidate was told to come, they apologised wished him luck and let him go.

Has anybody bought the practice material off the OPC website? Worth the investment or does the document they sent out pretty much cover it?

When I did my tests all I used to practice was what they sent. You will also get a bit of practice before each test on the day.

The examples you are sent out should suffice. Not sure what is included in the stuff they sell, but it will still just be similar but not the same as you will sit. Up to you, but personally I found the normal ones suffice

Has anyone applied for Sandiacre? I have had my DMI, but not heard anything since and it's 2 weeks tomorrow since my interview.

So just received an email today informing me that because I have already passed the psychometric tests I am have made it through to the next stage, I’m guessing that’s the medical. So relieved and that was the longest 2 weeks ever from my DMI!

Entry to the pool first I'd think. Hope you enjoy treading water.

We will have to wait and see, But I’m just glad to have made it into the pool if that’s what it is.

Thanks buddy, hope your not left waiting too long yourself. Do you still need to do the psychometric testing?
Yes, I've never done any psychometrics.

With the tests don’t get too hung up on them, use the practice materials they send you so you get a feel for the tests but don’t go too mad on them as they are slightly different from what you will do on the day.
I wish you luck
