Tonight WB64 was operated on the Friday timetable (same next week too).
I thought it was due to do the Crewe run, asked the bloke in the buffet (who is always a really friendly chap) and he said it was actually the Preston run again, but it should be different next week. Anybody confirm this?

It was hauled by a Freightliner 90 unusually, all the ninety nuts were out in force and said that ever single 90 is in use, but on the way back home I passed the same ews 90 that had been sat there all morning! Does anyone have some solid gen on the 90 situation?

The set seemed really quiet tonight, and set down only had been abolished from it's stop at Rugby. It was also held about 20minutes at Euston, the platform dispatcher was shouting at the other dispatchers for not moving it at it's original time! Why was it held up?

Sorry about all the questions, I'm not big on any particular class but I do like chasing WB64 when I can! As you can tell i'm looking forward to it visiting Coventry weekly!

It was 90 045, and yes it was 1P05 - the gen groups have been full of it this evening.

Apparently, the EWS Skoda fleet is rather 'stretched' at present so FL have stepped in to help out. Doubt it'll continue long-term as the FL AC fleet isn't exactly in great shape either with various long term stoppers at LNWR (quite a few 86s waiting wheels at present).

I think it's more about the DB 90s continually failing and VT seeking an alternative. There's slack in the FL fleet during the NLL blockade. A number of 86s awaiting wheels at LNWR as well as 86628 with fire damage.

However the FL skoda has blown up at BHM this morning. Oh the irony, 86101 bolted on to 4L81 at Kingmoor for a jolly to Crewe due to the failure of 86604.

The offer was made to VT some time back. A choice of 2 blue, 2 red from WN. Driver refreshers is the stumbling block....

I don't consider myself to be a 'top 90 man', but I went for it as it was my last Class 90. Was a rather pleasing end to a decade for me, especially to have my final member of the class on a service train! A photo at Stafford is attached.

I'll never complete the fleet; I need 90 037 and 90 040 for haulage. Long term stoppers at Crewe depot. Stored outside, so unlikely to ever be fit for return to service by now.

Always reckoned (since they painted them) the two red & silver ETL 86s would look quite good on the Pretendolino- not that far different from the "thunderbird" livery on the 57s.

Apparently the 90 failed with an TPWS fault (again!). Train was terminated at Wolverton because of this.

The chances of a 57 working the Mk3 set on the WCML are slim as they are only 95mph locos unless it is used on a special of some sort.

Forget that - 57 haulage from Crewe to Euston on the fast lines on the 24th, although admittedly on front of a Pendo!
