Another little ditty. This involves two locations although no real cryptic clue involved, but just for fun:

Residents of this Surrey town boast
Their standard of living is finer than most
But with the loss of one letter
Life may become even better
Further south gets them nearer the coast.

Camberley

If you take off the initial C you get Amberley , which is in the South Downs and nearer the coast than Camberley
