Good morning to all.

Now i'm clued up on my fares - but no so much within the London area.

I'm travelling within London on Monday 2nd May (if there are any interesting diversions etc let me know), now I will be travelling into London via alternative means and therefore wish only for the ticket if possible to include London Zone 1-9 or if it has to include on London Zone 1-6 then so be it.

I will also need a ticket that includes getting back to Milton Keynes central via EMR/TL to Bedford & Avanti Rail Replacement for my service back to Crewe with LNWR

The best I have come up with so far is

Bow Brickhill - London Zone 1-6 Super Off Peak Travelcard priced at £23.90 - i was able to get trainsplit to force going via MKC, Bletchley on the way back using EMR between STP and Bedford & Avanti Rail Replacement
Obviously this doesn't include Zone 1-9.
I wont be using the ticket to travel into London only on the return.

Is there anything I can combine with to get Z1-9, looking to pay no more than £30, which is the cost of one single London - MKC and Travelcard on Oyster/Conctactless wish I not to do ideally hence the paper ticket.

I think you may be out of luck for £30. The cheapest Z1-9 travelcard is £16 (without railcard) from Swanley. A return from boundary zone 6 to Bedford would let you get to Milton Keynes, but it would cost £14.90 (for a total of £30.90).

Actually, there's a slightly chepaer option,
Watford High Street to London Z1-9 is £15.30.

This also permits go via MKC/ St Alban's City due to engineering work

SE region's Z1-9 travelcard are slightly more expensive

I’m not convinced that’s the case. There are rail replacement buses between Watford High Street and Harrow and Wealdstone.

I'm not convinced either on this ticket permitting travel via MKC

Thanks Kieron,

I might be getting a return EUS to MKC route Avanti now, to use on a return next month. Avanti on twitter have confirmed it's valid via Bedford, but then I'm not so sure.

Sorry; I've only just realised that the fare list I was using didn't include any of the anytime or off peak Travelcards priced by London Overground or TfL Rail.

And they do show some odd routes as valid when there are buses involved.
Which sites are these for tommorow then?
I've attached an itinerary from EMR, if that helps.

Unless I'm mistaken as I know you can get some odd routings where buses are involved.

Yeah, but TOCs sites do generate a via Milton Keynes itinerary
That doesn’t mean that attempting to use a Travelcard in that way would be seen as acceptable by staff at barriered stations such as Bedford and St Albans.

Thanks Kieron.

I can't seem to produce the itnerinary on my phone on the mobile site.

Although I'm happy to use said ticket, I expect to encounter issues. But its a saving of around £8. But it's the hassle worth it.

Yeah, buses from Bedford to Milton Keynes then bus from Milton Keynes to Watford Junction.

Even without that odd routing, Watford High Street to London still needs to go via Bedford as not having West Coast service nor London Overground service on the day.

Nonsense. As stated earlier, there are rail replacement buses operating from Watford High Street to Harrow & Wealdstone.
