FGW overcharging by 40p?

That's nothing. TrashPennine Express have for some time been robbing unsuspecting tourists arriving at Manchester Airport - the TVM conveniently often only shows one fare available - a 'First' Single, twice the price of the actual fare. Due to an error, it was banded as Manchester Stations, instead of Manchester Central Zone and when you select the former, only that fare appears.

Will FirstGroup pay all those fares back? That went on for six years.

And Southern overcharge by around 5 pounds for a single journey when using some services operated by southern on the Brighton to London route.

How do you get the media interested in a story i wonder? I can think of a few...

Phone or e-mail and give them the story. Journalists like an easy story where they don't have to do too much research before printing it!

Since most newspapers seem to be getting rid of staff and filling their pages with AP work, then I have to say that any story that doesn't take much effort to type up will be attractive to a writer.

As is the case here.

BBC said:
Passengers buying tickets to Reading at Basingstoke station may have been charged 40p more than they should have between 28 September and 10 October.

Clearly the BBC don't have any reporters on the Hants/ Berks boarder or they would realise that Basingstoke is managed by SWT and the ticket machines at Basingstoke are SWT machines, so it is clearly is no surprise to see SWT finding this new method of exercising their cooperate anti-passenger attitude.

Suggest the thread title and OP are amended. Can't see how it is justifiable to bash First Group on this one.

That story is as laughable as the Victoria Line visually-impared one. *grunts*

Ha. Just give me the info. I'm one of those...

Currently writing about Northern!

Click on the contact us at the bottom, then website, and their is a simple form to highlight an inaccuracy in their story. You need to copy and paste the URL of the inaccurate story first, into the contact form!
