Now seeing as we have had the Thread about Hourly or More Services game.

Let's create a bus one.

Rules :

Bus Routes in England,Wales,Scotland used must have a frequent service anything from every 2 mins to Hourly

Direct Only, buses that change route numbers partway through the journey are allowed. as it's the same bus, just something to do with EU Regs.

Example : x33 Abergavenny - Pontypool changes to X3 in Pontypool for Cardiff. Same Bus.

Stagecoach X numbered allowed, Also GreenLine 757 etc allowed.

MegaBus/Greyhound except the South Wales 100 Cardiff - Swansea, Reading - Heathrow are forbidden.

National Express is allowed. And does not have to be HOURLY. with one rule person taking a go after NX is used cannot use NX on their turn :

Example :

444 NX Cheltenham - Worcester j.bloggs turn
144 Worcester -.Birmingham First Midlands

Now national express can be used :) comprende?

It's going to be sketchy at first, but can update rules etc, as it goes along, if everyone feels it's getting confusing.

I'm going to Start in Tewkesbury with Service 41 operated by Stagecoach West to Cheltenham Clarence Street.

I don't have any idea where to go from Gloucester but I'd like to point out that the 99 from MK to Luton mentioned in the opening preamble is not a megabus or a rail link route now - Stagecoach now brand it as an interurban route rather like the X4 to Peterborough (which I assume this game would also allow?).

I think it'd work insofar as most major towns and cities have hourly+ bus routes linking them during weekday daytime... it's just a matter of what area you know. I know how to bus around from about Watford up to about Rugby, and from Swindon across to somewhere around Bury St. Edmunds. Outside of that diamond shaped area I have no idea!

Sounds like a good idea! Thank you Sonic :)

From Gloucester we'll take the Stagecoach West (in Gloucester obviously) number 12 to Dursley.

I would have said the majestic 94 to Cheltenham, but er... we've been there already.

I think you are stuck apart from the 210 to Cam and Dursley station which is almost hourly and when you get there you are stuck There's nothing frequent enough from Dursley southwards

I'd have headed west from Gloucester to Ross on Wye on the 33 run by Stagecoach Wye and Dean though you pretty soon land up stuck that way as well

To go back to the starting point you get much better opportunities starting off in a different direction. I'll suggest it once we are stuck......

Last I knew Dursley had an hourly service to Bristol. But I haven't been able to keep up with some of the changes they've made.

Every 2 hours and only to Thornbury now

You'd be surprised in some areas as to the dearth of bus services - for example Gloucester/Bristol, Gloucester/Worcester, Gloucester/Newport all had reasonable services at one time. Now they are infrequent with changes en route

My apologies to Sonic, seen as he's local (ish) to the area, but I might have to suggest a new starting point, and then probably in the south-east or M62 corridor. Gloucester really isn't an easy one, although it is possible (I think Stroud to Yate could have been used?).

Another service that has bitten the dust I'm afraid. Now infrequent changing in Tetbury

I'd suggest keeping Tewkesbury as a starting point and getting Aston's 540 to Evesham, whose frequency has recently been doubled to hourly as part of Worcestershire's bus cuts. (go figure....)

I'm sure you can then get quite a way north without much further problem. (unless the aim is to get the next person stuck....) Probably to Northumberland

This seems to have died a death so shall we have another go starting at Watford??? Apologies if people can carry on from the previous line and don't want to do that. :)

Certainly easier.

From Watford let's take the much despi... I mean, loved 724 right through to its eastern terminus in my home county, Harlow.
