Game moves
You must depart from the station or stop where the previous post arrived using a permitted timetabled public transport service. The minimum connection time for the station or stop must be allowed for. Where this is not published, a minimum interchange time is considered to be five minutes. You may not reboard the service used by the previous post. In your post you should clearly state the time your service departs, the company who's service you are using and the time and day of arrival at your chosen destination. English destination names must be used. If arriving by bus or coach then you name should the area in addition to the stop name. Where more than one move is posted in response to the previous move, the move appearing first in the topic shall have precedence. Moves must be submitted in full as new posts and not edits of previous posts. Making a post that does not contain a move with the intention of editing it later to prevent another person posting before you is not permitted. If a move is discovered to be incorrect then the original post must be struck through and the correction made as a new post. Should the previous move leave you at the end of a bus route at a stop with no departures, you may walk to the nearest bus stop where services are available. For journeys using any TfL service, times from the TfL journey planner must be used. For non-TfL bus services traveline.info must be used.

Waiting
You must use the first available service to reach your destination after allowing for the minimum interchange time. You may not wait more for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
Walking
You may not walk between stations of the same mode although you may walk to a different bus stop at the same location for example by crossing the road in order to travel in a different direction. You may also walk when changing modes but only to a stop serving the same location.

Game coverage
You may not leave the island of Great Britain except where a fixed link exists to an island close to Great Britain.

Prohbitted transport
The use of cars, taxis, planes or helicopters is not permitted in this game.

Timetables
You should use the current timetable for the relevant day not including timetable variations for engineering works or other disruptions. You may use regular timetabled services which you even if boarding is only possible subject to availability (including National Express coach, the Caledonian sleeper and the Jacobite steam train but not railtours). On 25/26 December this game considers a full timetable for the relevant day to be in use.

Invalid moves
Any move that does not comply with the above rules may be declared void by Zoe in which case may be given time to submit a valid post. If this is not done then the game will continue from the last valid post.

Holds
If it is believed that a post is not valid then a hold should be requested by posting HOLD HOLD HOLD and a reference to the post in question. Once a hold has been requested no further moves should be posted until the hold is cleared.

A hold is considered cleared when:

1. The original poster and person calling the hold reach agreement over the validity of the post and if necessary, the author of the original poster corrects their submission. The caller may then clear the hold they called by posting RESUME. If this is not done within 24 hours then an adjudication will be made. Should the original poster elect to strike through their post then all moves following shall be null and void. The original poster must then either post a new move or declare open floor in which case the game will RESUME from the last valid move. If a HOLD is called due to an unclear situation (for example contradictory timetables) or a rules query then the HOLD will remain in effect until the caller or Zoe has posted RESUME.

2. An adjudication is made by Zoe in which case RESUME will be posted by Zoe with details on where the game will continue from.

First move: Depart Birmingham New Street on Monday at 06:42 using Cross Country and arrive at Bristol Temple Meads at 08:08.

Taking the Western Greyhound bus - 592 service from Plymouth at 17:48 - where the same bus turns into the 593 service at Liskeard and leaves us at Bodmin (for ease of continuing journey, outside the station ;) ) at 19:01 (still Monday, if you're not keeping up!)
