Im sat on the 1246 LM to Crewe and I'm wondering if a Nottingham - Birmingham intl anytime standard return is valid for BOJ at Tamworth? As I used Nottingham - Tamworth, but can I board a Tamworth- Birmingham XC?

Anytime tickets are always valid for BoJ. You don't mention where your train originated, but if you have a ticket used only from Nottingham to Tamworth then you're fine to resume travel from Tamworth.

Basically I've done NOT - Tamworth on my anytime return, and then used my LM great escape ticket, and now I want to go from Tamworth - New St before resuming my great escape of that makes sense? Going via Lichfield takes too long!

Makes sense to me.

Your NOT-BHI ticket is valid from TAM as you're resuming your journey. It will also be valid from BHM-BHI (on any TOC) if you come back that way
