Sometimes a 156 turns up, I think that 150's are better than 142/156, Everytime I go on that is always a 142 or 156 but 150 turned up a couple of times

It is normally 142s or 156s unless there has been a problem/delay on one of the other services.

Take your pick, seriously it can be any DMU that we operate so its down to luck to be honest, your best chance would be the 5.50 via Hazel Grove

I am pretty sure 156s very rarely turn up on the hpe valley. I have not seen one for over a year. It is usually a 150 and a 1 or 2 142s.

It's the opposite for me - seen 142s and 156s but never seen a 156.

Not saying your wrong at all but just asking. how often do you see the line and when was last time you saw a 156 on it? Been out fo sheffield for 2 months and hoping 156s havent become regular there in my absense as i like them.

we regularly use 150/156/142 DMU's on that line (trust me on that) as I have worked all 3 classes on Sheffields within the last couple of weeks.

I often see 156s on the Hopeless Valley services although usually morning/evening turns. When I've been at Sheffield around 7am some Saturday mornings there is often a 156 waiting to work the 07:12 to Manchester.

Was down Sheffield two weeks ago and there was a 156 on it, also around 2-3 months ago I got bowled as I thought it would be a 142. Perhaps I@m just being (un)lucky and getting 156s all the time?
