I am travelling tonight from London Liverpool St ([stn]LST[/stn]) to Harwich Intl ([stn]HPQ[/stn]) on a super off peak single with 16-25 R/C. Will I be allowed to upgrade to Weekend First? The website seems to imply this service is only available between Norwich and Liverpool Street?

Apparently they are available as follows: "any two stations served by a National Express East Anglia reservable mainline service" and cost £7.00

Could you not use the three letter codes (TLC) unless you explain which stations you are referring to as it makes it easier to understand that way, also HPG does not exist as a TLC.

LST = Liverpool Street.

direct Harwich trains aren't "reservable mainline services"- ie they're not served by Mark 3 sets, as far as I know. It'll most likley be a Class 360. Not really much point in going 1st class, the seats are pretty much the same- just spaced slightly further apart (due to having small arm rests) and thus 2+2, not 2+3.

There are no longer direct London-Harwich Town trains off-peak. You have to change at Manningtree and the connecting trains between Manningtree and London are Mark 3 sets.

So presumably the journey between Liverpool Street and Manningtree is upgradeable?
