The Plusbus part of a ticket is issued now on a separate ticket to the rail part of the journey. So is it possible to buy a Plusbus ticket for somewhere you break your journey mid-way at?

So if I was going from Leeds-Nottingham and my ticket allowed me to break my journey in Sheffield, could I go to the ticket office and buy a Sheffield Plusbus ticket?

Officially no...PlusBus is only intended to be used for the origin and/or destination shown on your rail ticket.

Of course it's physically possible, and it may well be issued (I am sure if you are prepared to 'shop around' you would get it issued!) but I guess you are asking if it is supposed to be done, in which case I am not so sure....

PlusBus website said:
"PLUSBUS is a cheap bus pass (like a travelcard) that you buy with your train ticket at any station ticket office, by 'phone or online. It gives you bus (and tram) travel to and from the rail station and around the whole urban area of town that's at the start &/or end of your train journey."

It's quite possible that some ticket clerks may refuse the sale due to the above wording.

Guards have issued me PLUSBUS in the described way before (and separately ;)), but ticket office clerks won't (I've found anyway).
