Does a ticket examiner affect the behaviour of passengers?

This is probably more of a rhetorical question, but anyway.

I was on a train today (won't name it) that had the absolute worst and rudest ticket examiner I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. He was just unbelievably rude to people. As a result, the passengers became a bit rowdy (giving cheek back to the guy).

Basically, does a ticket examiner affect the behaviour of passengers? Thanks!

I'd say it does have seen it many times, for the better and worse.

He wasn't exactly very cheeky to me, but he gave me a big lecture about my bike. I felt like I was in school again. I couldn't see why he was moaning. The train only had a few people in it, and he was annoying them.

If it really bothers you then PM me the TOC and I'll find you the CEO's email... if your bike wasn't permitted 'by the book' then you should have got a lecture?

Don't really have a lot of details to comment on :s

Don't bother - I know which TOC he's on about, and I know about the behaviour of the Chief Exec if he gets wind of someone he doesn't like.
