On Thursday (10th) I saw a class 357 (either 357026 or 357226) departing Liverpool Street, on what appeared to be an ECS working at about 13:30

The at around 18:30 I saw a pair of 357s passing westbound through Stratford.

Any ideas what they were doing ?

I know they are soon going to be closing Fenchurch Street early for works for a period of time and everything is going to LST after I think 8pm, and they're are trying to run a service via Bow (fenchurch street-stratford-barking) so might be something to do with that.

If not they do run to LST daily, albeit not at those times.

First set - route learning trips, runs a few days most weeks.
Second set - booked evening ecs move into Fenchurch St

I'd be very interested in going on that! last time I think they did that was the farewell blue train tour

This thread keeps appearing on the homepage as "Class 357s at Liverpool." That's wishful thinking!

Their website read that they were waiting for NR to give them the all clear for this route, and I believe that it was only while the works were on.
