Couldnt normalise a set of points at Wolves so everything was/is being talked past signals. Then a SPAD at Watford and then a track circuit failure, delay minutes flying through the roof.

Typical on a friday! Major signal probs at Hendon have screwed EMT & Thameslinks evening peak.

On Anglia we got off lightly in the Bermuda triangle around Diss. 90009 lost power on 12.00 Nrw-Lst on the country side of Diss. On the move 24 late only to conk out again a few miles away. Terminated Stowmarket & went into loop awaiting T'bird to drag to Crown Pt for a loco swap. This then had tech problems & sat down in Diss down platform resulting in all services using the up.

The picture in question is of Sandhills, just north of Liverpool City Centre.

It's served by Merseyrail's Northern Line services and has been recycled from their article in early September when the network came to a grinding halt

Had to tweet LM twice re this - one to ask if tickets were being accepted on Metro trams as well as NX buses (turns out they were already but no-one had told the LM twitterer), later re info on screens at New St saying tickets valid on "Metrolink and WMT buses", they passed it onto NR.

I guess Platform 6 at WVH saw a large increase in use today.

Sally Traffic on Radio 2 got her lines and TOCs confused, blaming the Wolverhampton problems for the delays on EMT and FCC.

Some services on the Hereford Line were delayed due to the issues today, with some Hereford-bound services being 20 minutes late.

It was awful!

A two hour journey took me four.

First no trains were going through Wolverhampton because of signal problems. I was travelling from leicester - Nottingham to London trains severe delays due to, again, signal problems.

XC turbostar broke down between Birmingham and Leicester on it's way to Stanstead.

EMT meridian broke down on the platform at Leicester.

Second XC turbostar appeared to be having trouble at Leicester - was at the platform for 40 minutes before the doors actually opened to let us on.

In all... absolutely terrible journey.

No communication either. Leicester's tannoys were too interested in the London trains - yet more evidence that London gets priority over Birmingham. They didn't announce Birmingham's delays once. The signs said on time even though the train left half an hour late (having been in ready well before it's due time regardless). Birmingham passengers were left confused with no information.
