I was looking through the archived POD's on the railway centre and noticed a picture of the Eurailscout, which, I had completely forgotten about.
Whatever happened to it? I thought it was intended to replace the 950 with it?

It wasn't run by Network Rail, just contracted in. It cost a bomb to run and was sent back to Europe in favour of NR using it's in house/existing (Serco/ex-Serco) staff and fleet. It ran on the Southern mainly, and was known as the Southern Measurement Train. It was never intended to replace the Sprinter, which never ran on the Southern (and indeed still doesn't, save a couple of rare video forays onto the South Central).

Thanks for clearing that up Hydro, much appreciated!
