just been waiting to catch 16.30 Eus-Glasgow Central, got to Euston about 3pm,saw a 15.33 to Edinburgh with just Preston stop, and 16.33 London-Liverpool Lime St,with Tamworth-Lichfield-Stafford-Runcorn,I'm on 16.30 Eus-Glasgow,not very busy at all,so anyone know why Virgin running extra services, also 16.10 London-Holyhead was short formed with 5 car Super Voyager, and they even appear in pocket timetable, what going on?also the !5.33 was due in 20.22,so obviously follow 15.30 all the way, seem to me to be overdoing it,what people think?

Don't know about the 1533, but I thought the 1633 slot was used for a Preston service behind the 1630 Glasgow run.
And I didn't realise the 1610 now ran to Holyhead...

I believe that Virgin are temporarily running these additional Edinburgh services when the ECML has engineering works going on at the weekend. Would have been good for the 15:33 to depart before the 15:30 - with a clear run, it could do Edinburgh in 4h10. Put this as a permanent service and it could give East Coast some decent competition!

16.33 Preston is SX 16.33 Liverpool SO. 16.30 Glasgow is not a Preston only on saturdays.

If it went before would it then not delay the 16.30 Glasgow as would catch up the 16.23 WM Pendo that picks up at Watford Jc?

If it departed at 15:27, departs Preston at 17:27 (the 16:30 does this non-stop in 2 hours) and arrive Edinburgh at 19:35, passing Carlisle at 18:24ish. Of course, this is hypothetical and assumes it has a clear run all the way.
