Need Some Help!!

What are the names of the two devices below?

1.this is a kind of joint bar with a bending in the middle.

2.this is a kind of emergence rail device that connects two parts of a rail when a complete rail cracked into two parts.This device can be installed at the place of crack in order to ensure safety when train passed.

Second one would be called a rail clamp wouldn't it?

First one certainly just looks like a deformed fish plate to me. Second one looks like a rail clamp but only seen them loose not in use so cant say for certain.

The 'Deformed Fishplate' is for emergency use. Two are used, one each side of the rail where it is cracked or otherwise damaged. Giant 'G-Clamps' with pointed ends placed in the holes clamp the fishplates to the rail.
We have several examples of these devices on display at St Albans South signal box, but I've never photographed them, so I cannot show you the exact arrangement.

The second item I have never seen - it may be a modern version of the G-Clamp mentioned above.

The first one is an Emergency Joggled Fishplate, which is intended to clamp out defective / broken welds or other rail defect, hence why there is a bulge in the middle. These plates have indentations into which the jaws of the G claps locate.

The second photograph shows a Temporary Rail Joint Clamp. These are used with flat relaying fishplates to clamp up rail joints in newly laid track prior to it being welded.

I have recently seen these in use at Bridge of Allan Station. Both rails had them, supporting an area with clear signs of wheel spin on each rail. Only had one pair of G-clamps on each rail.

We are not allowed to fit the G-clamps anymore,we have to use the same clamps as we use with the facetta plates,saves digging out under the rail though.
