I was doing some station bagging in Liverpool and then headed off to Eccles this morning and the Rainhill 12:08 wasn't half going slow around Chat Moss. On passing some workers it became a bit more clear as to why we stopped but I noticed some engineering unit stood still on the Liverpool-bound side.

Can anyone be more clear as to what was happening there today?

This might have a lot to do with the forthcoming electrification of the line. Other than that I have no clue!

Theyve done the bridge structures along the line so are probably now onto the positioning and installation of OHLE bases.
