Was just skimming through the site looking for £12 Rooms in the current sale when I came across.....

December 31st Edinburgh Central £259.01

This is the highest I have ever seen one advertised for....unless anyone out there knows different

during the festival, I've seen the Holiday Inn Expresses in Edinburgh at £400 a night.

For new-year, the Royal Mile one has a 3-night minimum that will cost at least £680.

Nice to see they are not "cashing in" on the situation ;)

I thought I would try London during the olympics, but even they seem to stop at about £220 for a Travelodge. Although the Crowne Plaza in Ealing want £440 a night!

Market forces! Just like holidays being more expensive in August!

Perhaps the matter should be raised on That's Britain?!

Nice idea but I fear (and hope?) that "Thats Britain" will shortly be joining the cigarette butt - down the drain :p

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
cuzzon paid £300 for the last travelodge
room within 20 miles of Edinburgh last newyear, turned up at the reception and that was there quote.

Other end of the scale, I got 2 nites for £15 when travelodge London city airport first opened, best travelodge stay ever and 5 mins from DLR!

indeed PI are equally as bad, I paid £77 in Havant last night, Monday and Tuesday night i paid £29 a night in Ashford. the £29 a night was booked at less notice and was a far more pleasurable couple of nights sleep!

Have they still got the no quibble 100% guaranteed refund if you are unsatisfied with your stay?

I would have been tempted to book that really expensive one in London quoted earlier and then invoke the guarantee.:p

yes they have, but you need to back your claims with evidence, such as video photo or sound recordings, all of which are fairly easy to do with modern mobile phones. Or ask the receptionist to verify the issue, and get a log from her/him. They ask for such evidence to stop every single guest claiming back. The 3 nights i've stayed in this week were all very pleasant nights sleep.

Ah thats changed then - all you used to have to do was mention the problem and hey presto your bill = 0.

They never used to supply bathsheets only normal bath towels to use.

Complaining about that was enough to invoke the 100% satisfaction g'tee as they were unable to provide them on request.

I am talking 5yrs ago though :p

We've used this a couple of years ago, the fire alarm went off for about 10 secs at 0430 (appx) in the morning, supposedly a technical fault, we needed no further evidence as obviously this affected the whole hotel and everyone was claiming! :|

I would have offered everyone a free breakfast - it would have been cheaper.
