Hi

Would it be possible to put here the 377s and the 375s which have been recently refreshed.

The Southern examples (377/1s) look great inside partly because these are the ones with the generous 2+2 seating interiors throughout the train. Southern wish to install carpeting rather than vinyl in the vestibules which I think looks good and they have also fitted new side panels in attractive blue.

The whole fleet will be treated although presumably the older interiors will recieve most of the work.

Regarding the drop down tables on the ironing board seats I have been informed nothing can be done about the squeaky nature of them (everything has been tried) and once they break they are very hard to repair as they are screwed right through the seat.

Finally do 442s have drop down tables in Standard? I thought they did but swear I saw a 442 today which didn't.

I'd also like to point out a number of 460s were in operation today.

I thought all 442's had been in for a resh, if not then I think the 442 you saw without the drop down tables could be an unrefreshed example?

As far as I remember 375702 and 375821 have both been "refreshed" as I travelled on both of these back on 9th October each way to/from Victoria.

SE 375s seem to be refreshed just internally, although this really only extends to new seat covers, cctv, some carpet but only in 1st, and a general clean up.

On the down side, grab handles on the seats get screwed back in at weird angles, no new carpet in standard, and most flip down tables haven't been cleaned.

Oddly though there seems to be just one or two units with the new external colour scheme. But being SE this is purely some new vinyl on the doors which of course doesn't match the thorough relivery of the 465s and 466s particularly well. And dont even think about making good the shading removed from the lower half of the 375/3/6/7 fleet ages ago.

It'd be nice to see 375610 repainted. The "special" Royal Tunbridge Wells colour scheme is looking quite tatty.

375705 and 375308 both have a new livery. 705 has the lilac doors with dark blue stripe and 308 has lilac doors as far up as where the windows end with no stripe. I think 705 looks really nice in that livery.

As far as I know, all 442s have been refurbished and are all in service with Southern/Gatwick Express, the "airline" seats do have drop down tables, which unlike the 377s, aren't squeaky :)

Shame they look completely different! If only SE could settle upon a standard livery for once.

Any idea how many liveries in total Southeastern have at the moment ?

Goodness only knows. Even the fully finished 465/0s differ from their 465/2/9 and 466 equivalents. The 375s seem to be following this now proud SE tradition.

Basically there's loads of half finished units in operation, and the completed ones dont match. I'm sure there is good reason for this but I'd love to know what it is.

Of the Electrostars and Networkers I think this is the full list (which stands at eight or if you counted the Javelins, nine):

I know the Southern 377 seating configurations but what about SouthEastern?

They seem to have a lot more trains with 2+2 throughout which is great and perhaps some with 3+2 throughout. Do they have any mixtures like Southern?

Anyone tell me the various seating layouts on the 375s please? I haven't seen any with the 2+2 front and rear and 3+2 centre configuration like Southern 377/4, some 377/1s and 377/2

All 375's (/3 /6 /7 /8) are 2+2 throughout expect 375/9's which are 3+2 (i think)

I'm pretty sure that's right and I think the /9s have slightly less comfortable seats, so that's why I prefer to sit in the non /9 half if there are two coupled.

SouthEastern do well then!

I was on a Southern 377 today must have been in the 377/4, 2 or 140-164 range as the centre cars had the 3+2 seating. New carpet has been fitted in the vestibules (previously lino) as well as the side panals painted an attractive blue

Quite a few 375s seem to have received their internal refresh now.

But very little progress on the exterior updating work.
