I've literally just seen a Class 323 in London Midland livery pass south through Rugby at speed. (1011hrs)

It was almost certainly an ECS move - would this be going to King's Heath or is it going into revenue service from
Northampton - Birmingham subbing for a 350?

Answers on a postcard

323210 on 5N00 Soho LMD to Northampton Carriage Sidings.

Don't ask me why though.

I've seen a 323 at Kings Heath depot this year (seem to recall that it was 210 as well) and also saw 323211 pass through Rugby one Weds night last month.

Is it possible they are going for tyre turning?

When the through London - Northampton - Birmingham service was suspended about 8 years ago and Central took over the Northampton - Birmingham service, it wasn't that uncommon to see a 323 in Northampton.

Not seen one for a long time now though.
