No online purchase then? What a shambles, less organised than LM. So in reality i guess i need to buy a return to Exeter and hope i havent wasted a trip, shame as I would like to wish them farewell being a pacer fan before they move further away, but if it appears awkard to arrange a ticket I dont know if i can be bothered, I shall see!

I'd also consider doing this, I'll be buying my ticket on Sunday by the way.

Its a shambles! Really FGW have only allowed people from Exeter/Plymouth Area to buy tickets! No Online purchase well that's a non starter. Is the money raised going to charity?

Sold out?
I do hope not :(
Well I've just phoned them up (0207 313 1064) about this, and I've reserved a ticket for the afternoon part of the tour, I'll be paying the guard on the day, so I would've thought others can do this as well.
She told me Exeter have sold their allocation of tickets, but Plymouth haven't.

Have amended the post accordingly after being re informed that only the Exeter tickets were gone:oops:

I'll be there! From what I have been told by the staff at Plymouth ticket office the other day, almost all of the spare tickets that they had have been sent up to Exeter ticket office.

The only thing that I'm annoyed about is there is no practical way of getting from Plymouth to Exeter for the first part of the tour..

I'll be track bashing in the Midlands myself on Sunday, much more interesting than doing the 142 tour! Would have cost a mega fortune to get to Exeter anyway without a railcard! Sadly I've got to put up with Voyager mileage but it's all good.

Would have loved to have gone, but there was never a chance that I'd be able to get to Exeter as soon as the ticket sales were announced to buy one. Still, will try and catch as much as I can lineside on the Heathfield Branch - great to see it bck in use. To anyone on here going - could you do us a favour and try and get whatever photos/video you can of the line, please?

Will be taking the trusty camera all day (and a smaller one in reserve, just in case):D

Positively quite excited here too ;)
Be Good Do :D
I don't know why I'm relishing the prospect of 7 hours in a 142 but it seems to hold a certain appeal :)

By the way, my ticket is for the afternoon only, but I'm going to come down to Newton Abbot separately to see it come off the Heathfield branch, then I'll pop back up to Exeter to get on it for the afternoon runs.

Thanks to FGW for an enjoyable day today, despite the odd technical hitches with a couple of the units!

Keep em in the South West as long as you like! I don't want them back in the North thanks. We'll have your 150s instead!

Absolute 'banger' of a day out, even a severe wheel flat on the middle of the 3 units coming back from Meldon couldn't ruin it, well done to all concerned, will post a couple of shots later today.

The day was a great laugh with helpful staff and some initiative shown to overcome the problems with 2 of the units on the Okehampton section.

Thanks to all who made it happen and for supplying the ale - will try to post photo's later time permitting.
