Is it still only possible to book one ticket at a time when booking bargain berths for the sleeper online? If so can any one suggest an easy way to book two bargain berths for the same cabin?

It's possible to book multiple tickets in one go, but that's subject to availability and is usually only possible when booking a couple of months in advance, depending heavily on the time of year etc.

As for getting hold of two berths in the same cabin - you're pretty much guaranteed this if you book two berths in one go (when it lets you), as shown in the attatchment.

Hope that helps.

Yep, there is a "sharing" option when you book 2 together - tick this and it will put you in one cabin.

You can also pay for both the outward and return legs (if doing the sleeper both ways) at the same time, simply by adding all BBs to your basket and then paying for them. But be warned: BBs are available for others to select even while you have selected them, until you've actually paid for them, so don't put off paying for too long in case someone just beats you to it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll probably not be travelling until later in the year, so I'll have a look in a few weeks (once we've decided where we're going ;)).

Yes 15 is the Lower berth and 16 the Upper. They are numbered in pairs, 1&2, 3&4 etc.

And the national express coach group have been doing sms ticketing for a while too. It's hardly a first.

But it's a good idea as you're more likely to forget your old paper tickets than your mobile which goes everywhere with you.

*This is T52s sensible ticketing post number 1 out of 10*

If you book 2 berths, one male, one female, do you get any choice as to whether you are together or apart?

Wasn't it ages ago that they forced you to be apart, when you were not yet 16? I am sure it wouldn't be a problem now, I think you were just unlucky.

Ah, but will the bargain berths computer system put you together or apart?

Whichever you choose - see replies 2 & 3 to this topic. Remember to check the the "Sharing" option is ticked if you want the berths to be in the same cabin (IIRC the sharing option is ticked by default)

There's a 1-in-16 chance of the same number berth, so not that spooky ;)
